THE PROJECT

Lenore Weiss partnered with the home’s original architect, Stuart Shayman, to reimagine the whole space in a more contemporary way while maintaining some of its best details, including optimum views of the surrounding woods and Lake Michigan. The couple also wanted the home to be filled with natural light, and designed as a private retreat.

The master bath’s 10′ ceilings give the space an expansive feel, while a dropped ceiling along the central axis over the tub and anchoring the fireplace wall deliver a cozier vibe. Original tall windows and glass door provide natural light and views to the lake.

Distinguished judge, Lauren Tolles, commented that our “private retreat” would be enjoyed by the homeowner as an oasis and she also was quoted, “I thought this was sophisticated and elegant. I liked the crisp, clean lines, and it just looked really warm and inviting.”
